Photography has been a love of mine since I was a child growing up in Wisconsin, when I would “borrow” my mom’s Polaroid camera and take random pictures around the neighborhood. Through the years this love turned into a passion, and in 2014, I started my own photography business, Sally Mae Photography. I chose this name in memory of my mom, who was an artist and photographer herself.
Living in the foothills of California has given me the opportunity to explore so many beautiful areas. From my home in Calaveras County, to Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada, you cannot beat the scenery here. Nature touches my soul and I try to capture that feeling in my photographs.
My work has been juried into various art shows in Northern California, including Amador County, Columbia, Lodi, Modesto, Sacramento and Turlock. I was awarded a Certificate of Merit at the 2016 California State Fair Fine Art Show, and Best of Division at the Calaveras County Fair 2016. Some of my favorite pieces are displayed at Manzanita Arts Emporium in Angels Camp and the Timeless Home Gallery in Arnold. You can see the full collection of my work on my website.
